The weekly ad, American style

Here's the deal with American weekly ads: there's no single one. Every chain has its own, and it usually lasts seven days, though the start day changes from banner to banner. Folks call it the weekly ad, the circular, sometimes the flyer. On AdsSOS we scan them and put them in one place, so you can flip through a week of local sales without opening ten tabs. We show the ads themselves, not prices, and we don't list product pages.

Pick a category below, or jump straight to a store. Everything on this page is built from facts we checked, and where we couldn't confirm something, we say so.

Start with a category

The ads are grouped in six hubs. Supermarket weekly ads is the biggest, with dozens of regional and national grocers. Home and garden ads covers the hardware and farm-store world, while electronics weekly ads is a short list built around Best Buy. There are also auto, sports and leisure ads, health and beauty ads and discount and general merchandise ads. Each hub mixes retailers that really are different, and each says so.

A few of the biggest names

Groceries first, because that's where most people start. Albertsons stores are the namesake of a family that includes Acme Markets, which is based in Pennsylvania. Meijer's weekly ad is a big one in the Midwest, and most stores keep long hours, about 6 a.m. to midnight. Hy-Vee stores run a free Perks program with fuel discounts, and Big Y offers a myBigY membership with digital coupons.

For the house and yard, Home Depot and Menards stores both draw heavy search traffic. People look up things like "home depot weekly ad mulch" and "menards weekly ad" nearly every week. Mills Fleet Farm sells outdoor and home goods and offers a price guarantee with exclusions.

Beyond that: Best Buy for electronics, JCPenney stores for the department store crowd, Dunham's Sports for sporting goods, Family Dollar and Ollie's Bargain Outlet for the bargain shelves, and Avon's brochure for beauty, sold online and through Ambassadors rather than in stores.

Words you'll hear

How the week runs

Release days differ. Kroger says its new ad is available at midnight Eastern on Wednesday, and Thursday in Indiana, Illinois and eastern Missouri. Harris Teeter runs Wednesday to Tuesday on our listings, and Sprouts emails its ad on Tuesdays. Plenty of people search "weekly ad preview" to see next week's ad early, so we keep upcoming editions easy to reach where we have them.

Hours are usually local. Home Depot says Sunday hours vary by location, and Family Dollar, Best Buy and JCPenney all say the same: look up your store. Alcohol is regulated by state, so the rules differ from place to place.

The holiday rhythm

Autumn is when the ads get busy, and holiday hours are worth checking store by store. Home Depot's own holiday page (published March 30, 2026) lists Thanksgiving Day, November 26, as closed, a 6 a.m. opening on Black Friday, Christmas Eve closing at 5 p.m. and Christmas Day closed. Sprouts' FAQ lists 7am to 2pm on Thanksgiving Day and closed on Christmas Day. Searches for Black Friday ads start well before the holiday, and \"best buy weekly ad black friday\" is a common phrase, but we don't predict release dates.

After the holidays, returns matter. JCPenney lists a holiday return window through January 31, 2027, and, as with every store, you'll want the receipt. Best Buy's price match, per its own page, can be requested at purchase or during the return and exchange period, so the same receipt does double duty.
