Safeway Weekly Ad This Week

Safeway weekly ad: what to check before you load the cart

Grocery run coming up? Start with the dates. The Safeway Weekly Ad we list runs October 21 to October 27, 2026, spans nine pages and begins on a Wednesday. Safeway sells in 17 states plus Washington, D.C., so the exact prices and the lineup can vary by region and by the store you pick in the app. Use the ad as a guide to what the banner is pushing this week, then lock in your own store before you count on a deal.

Safeway for U: points, coupons and the phone number trick

Safeway's rewards program is called for U, and it's free to join. Official pages describe personalized deals, digital coupons and points on eligible purchases. You add offers to your account online or in the Safeway Deals & Delivery app before you shop, then enter your phone number at checkout so they apply. Points can turn into free products, gas savings or cash off. If you switch on the automatic cash-off toggle in the Rewards section, every 100 points converts to $1 off your next checkout. Unused points expire within two calendar months, counting the month you earned them, except for FreshPass subscribers.

Stacking and gas rates are where people get tripped up. Search results about fuel values differ by source, so check the Rewards tab for today's value instead of trusting a number from a coupon site, and read the program details page for the current limits on combining offers.

• Clip offers the night before and note the expiration date.
• Register your phone number once; it is your key at the register.
• Look at your points balance before the month ends.

Safeway return policy: Fresh Guarantee and online orders

Plenty of people search "safeway return policy without receipt" and "after 30 days." Many of the articles that rank for it are low-quality copies, so here's what Safeway's own pages say. The Fresh Guarantee covers produce, meat, seafood, bakery, deli and floral. If you're not fully satisfied with freshness or quality, you can ask for a full refund by bringing the item to the store, with a receipt if you have it, or by contacting Safeway by phone, web or mail. For delivery or Drive Up & Go orders, report a problem to the driver or associate, or contact Safeway within seven days. Baby formula, alcohol and tobacco are excluded once an online order is accepted. The conditions for returning or exchanging goods, and for any price-matching promise, are decided by the retailer within the limits of local consumer law. Photograph the receipt and check the conditions before you leave the store.

Safeway hours, Sundays and the pharmacy

Safeway hours searches are huge, including pharmacy times, Sunday hours and "what time does the deli open." There is no single schedule, because stores in 17 states each set their own, and pharmacy and deli hours are often shorter than the store's. Alcohol sales on Sunday and holiday rules follow local law. The practical move is to open the store page in the app, check today's hours and pharmacy hours, and then plan your trip. For Thanksgiving and Christmas, look again the day before.

Does Safeway price match? Delivery and payments

"Safeway price match" appears often in suggestions, but a lot of those results refer to Canada, where the Safeway name belongs to a separate business. Suggestions also include delivery, Apple Pay, EBT and WIC. Official pages mention delivery and Drive Up & Go orders, and acceptance of payment types such as EBT or WIC is something to confirm at your store.

Who Safeway is today

Wikipedia traces Safeway to Marion Skaggs, who opened four grocery stores in Portland, Oregon, in 1921. After a 1926 merger with the Sam Seelig Company, the company grew into one of the biggest chains in the country. It has been a subsidiary of Albertsons since a merger finalized on January 30, 2015, and the Albertsons Companies website describes more than 2,200 stores in 35 states under about 20 banners including Vons and Jewel-Osco. Wikipedia lists Pleasanton, California, as Safeway's headquarters and about 912 stores in 2025. Store brands include O Organics, Open Nature and Signature Select.

Compare Safeway with sister banners

Because the parent company runs many banners, check the Albertsons weekly ad this week and the Acme weekly ad too. Other shoppers browse US supermarket weekly ads or the US weekly ads hub to see everything on one screen.
