President Hyper Catalogue This Week

Four stores, one weekly specials page

President Hyper is not a national chain, and that shapes how you use its catalogue. There are four stores, in Krugersdorp, Fochville, the Vaal (Vanderbijlpark) and Rustenburg, so most readers of this page live within reach of one of them. The retailer publishes its weekly specials online, with the validity period shown on each promotion, and many are marked while stocks last. On AdsSOS, editions of this store usually start on a Monday.

The editions we hold right now: a Summer Sale (5 to 25 October 2026, 9 pages), a JVC edition for the same dates, and a one-page JVC Party Speaker offer valid from 8 to 31 October. The speaker is a good reminder of what this place is. It is a grocery store that also stocks branded general goods, so the catalogue can jump from food to electronics. If you are comparing grocers, the supermarket catalogues in South Africa put the big chains alongside it.

President Hyper trading hours: weekdays, Saturday and Sunday

Hours are the thing people ask about most. Suggestions include "president hyper trading hours sunday", "is president hyper open today" and "president hyper trading hours public holidays". For Krugersdorp and Rustenburg the store pages, read on 22 October 2026, give the same pattern: Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday 8am to 6pm and Sunday 8am to 5pm. Each branch keeps its own opening times, and municipal rules or holidays can shift them. A quick look at the signage or the branch's posted times saves a wasted journey. A question such as "does President Hyper open on Christmas Day" is therefore best answered by a phone call to the branch a few days ahead.

Is President Hyper part of Shoprite?

This is a real search ("is president hyper part of shoprite"), and the answer is nuanced. According to a November 2025 BusinessTech report, the founding family sold the President Hyper trademark to Shoprite in 2021, and the stores now trade under a franchise arrangement with OK while remaining independently owned. The same report says the business was started by Greek immigrant George Synodinos, who settled in Fochville, took over the former OK Bazaars premises in Church Street in 1986, and retired in 2022. The retailer's own website says it has operated since 1964.

For you as a shopper, the practical lesson is to treat President Hyper as its own catalogue. Prices, specials and rules belong to the individual stores, not to the Shoprite or Checkers leaflets. Compare them by opening the Shoprite specials page and the Checkers catalogue this week side by side.

Layby, delivery, gift cards and other questions

Google suggests a cluster of service questions: does President Hyper do layby, deliver, use Payflex, or sell gift cards. None of these is answered on the official pages we opened. Return windows, refund methods and price-adjustment rules are not identical across stores or channels. Photograph the receipt and check the conditions before you leave the store. What the website does offer is a platter menu of individually packed sandwich, snack and savoury platters, which is handy for a funeral, a school function or an office lunch. Orders and questions go through the numbers on the contact page, for example the Krugersdorp store on (011) 951 3200 or Rustenburg on (014) 112 1700.

Returns and complaints under the CPA

No returns policy is published on the store pages. The Consumer Protection Act still protects you. FA News summarises section 56 as giving you six months from delivery to return defective goods without penalty, with the choice of repair, replacement or refund, and notes that a till-slip notice cannot take that right away. The article dates from 2017 and is one attorney's reading. A change-of-mind return is up to the store, and perishables are a special case, so keep your slip and inspect fresh goods before you leave the counter.

Competitions, awards and local standing

The homepage shows past giveaways, including cars with supplier partners such as Unilever and Tiger Brands and a motorbike prize with Martin and Martin, and says President Hyper was voted Best Grocery Store in the Vaal in the 2025 Best of Vaal Readers' Choice Awards. Which rewards, app functions and delivery services apply depends on the branch and the area. The retailer's own channels show the current terms for your area.

Other places to compare

If a branch is too far, the Pick n Pay catalogue and specials or the Boxer specials this week may suit better. The South Africa catalogues and specials hub lists every store we track.
