What counts as a supermarket leaflet here
Ask anyone in Britain where the week's shop is going and the answer is usually one of about a dozen names, give or take a corner shop. This page gathers the leaflets from those names: the big four, the two German discounters, the frozen-food specialist, the posh one and the symbol-group convenience stores. They are not one format, and it is worth saying so plainly. A Tesco superstore, a Spar run by the family down the road and a Waitrose in a market town have very little in common beyond the word grocery.
Everything below sits on top of the UK leaflet hub, where the rest of the country's retailers live, and the leaflets themselves are scanned and listed weekly.
The big four, and what each one asks of you
The old pecking order still shapes the aisle: Wikipedia's table gives Tesco 28.5 per cent of Great Britain's grocery market in 2025, the big four about two-thirds, Aldi 10.8 and Lidl 8.2. Tesco leaflet offers come with a catch that regulars know by heart: Clubcard Prices have to be unlocked in the app or online, and the card scanned at the till. Forget, and there is a route back, since a missed Clubcard price can be claimed within 14 days in a larger store with the card and receipt. Tesco is also the biggest by distance, with 4,256 UK stores counted in February 2026.
Sainsbury's catalogue pages run on Nectar. Your Nectar Prices are unlocked weekly, refresh every Friday and last seven days, which means a leaflet seen on a Monday may describe prices you can only claim after a tap on the phone. The chain dates from 1869 and Drury Lane, and the head office is still in Holborn.
Asda weekly offers use a loyalty app launched in August 2022 with no physical card. Asda also ran an Aldi and Lidl Price Match from January 2024 to January 2025, then brought Rollback back in January 2025, which tells you how much the discounters bend the whole market. Morrisons leaflet deals offer the More Card, returned on 22 May 2023, and a price match against Aldi and Lidl on selected products, which excludes Daily, Amazon and Deliveroo orders.
The discounters and their own rhythm
Aldi and Lidl work to a different calendar from the big four. Aldi Specialbuys change twice a week, with new items on Thursdays and Sundays while stocks last, so a Specialbuys leaflet is closer to a launch list than a promise. Aldi counted 1,106 UK stores in October 2026. We found no official Aldi price match, and the rivals tend to match Aldi lines rather than the other way round.
Lidl leaflet editions listed here usually start on a Thursday. Lidl Plus is app only, with no plastic card, and the chain reports 1,021 stores in Great Britain. For non-food, change of mind is 30 days and faults are covered for 12 months. Shoppers searching for Lidl offers this week on a Thursday are, as it happens, doing precisely the right thing.
Others on the shelf: cold, posh, local
Iceland Christmas leaflet is a real search query, and the chain, headquartered in Deeside with a first shop in Oswestry in November 1970, runs a Bonus Club. Delivery thresholds have moved over time, so check the figure on the day.
Waitrose offers sit behind a free myWaitrose card, and part of the John Lewis Partnership since 1937. Real queries ask what day of the week Waitrose changes its offers, and we could not verify a single official day; the leaflet date listed here is the better guide.
Co-op Member Prices need membership, with the 1 pound joining fee refunded on the first shop. The old 2p reward ended on 24 January 2024. Spar leaflets come from independent retailers under one brand, with 2,190 UK stores. Loyalty there is regional apps only, and queries such as Spar leaflet NI hint that offers vary by area. Treat any Spar page as a guide to the brand rather than your own shop's shelf.
Sundays, Easter and bank holidays
In England and Wales, the Sunday Trading Act 1994 limits shops over 280 square metres to six hours between 10am and 6pm, and they are closed on Easter Sunday. Smaller shops, which can include Co-op and Spar branches, can open freely. Scotland has no equivalent limit, since shops there kept the right to open at any time, and Northern Ireland has separate Sunday opening laws, so a Sunday question depends on where you are standing. Waitrose branches were reported at 10am to 4pm on bank holiday Monday, and Co-op Easter Sunday and Christmas hours appear in the real queries.
Making the leaflet work for you
- Check the start date first. Thursday starts (Lidl, Aldi Specialbuys) and the Friday Nectar refresh mean the same week can hold two sets of offers.
- Unlock before you shop. Clubcard, Nectar and Lidl Plus prices only apply if the app step is done.
- Use the price matches that really exist. Morrisons matches selected Aldi and Lidl lines, and Asda's Rollback is a standing scheme; Waitrose has no current official policy that we could find.
- Keep your receipt. Missed Tesco Clubcard prices have that 14-day window, and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers faulty goods.
What shoppers actually ask
The queries behind this page read like a weekly timetable: leaflet this week, offers this week in store, opening hours on Sunday, Christmas leaflet. Cheapest-supermarket questions are common too; we point you to the leaflets rather than a league table. If your shop is non-food, the home and garden hub or the general merchandise pages may suit better.
