Appliance and electronics shops on the island

Electronics in Cyprus is mostly a specialist-chain business with a few shops in each of the main towns, and the five retailers on this hub follow that pattern. Their brochures are less frequent than a supermarket's weekly sheet: the one we hold for Scandia covers a whole month, while others publish offers mainly on the website. That changes how you use them. You scan them before a planned purchase, such as a washing machine or a television, rather than every Thursday.

The five retailers compared

Electroline appliance stores describe itself as a member of Alpan Group, founded in 1999. A 2008 Athens Exchange announcement, which we read, called it the biggest retail chain for electric and electronic appliances in Cyprus, with nine stores across Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Paralimni at that date. Today the site is inconsistent: the About page says nine stores and the footer says seven, so confirm the branch nearest you before travelling. Its returns terms are a seven-day exchange in store and a 14-day withdrawal online.

The Scandia brochure in our listing runs 1 to 31 October 2026 over five pages. The shop is operated by Novario Holding and lists six locations on its site: Nicosia (two), Larnaca and Limassol on continuous hours, with Paralimni and Paphos on split hours. Scandia also promotes GoGet, a buy-now-pay-later service from Ellinas Finance, and says all instalment options are available only in physical stores.

Andreas Charalambous was founded in 1989 and counts nine stores in its company profile. The Kofinou address lists Sunday 09:30 to 17:00, which makes it one of the few in this group with a published Sunday slot. Online orders can be returned within 14 calendar days, but store-collected purchases are excluded.

Emilios Eliades traces itself to Nicosia in 1957. Its contact page says closed on Sundays. It offers a two-year legal warranty with receipt, and we found no price-match policy. Megaelectric online shop offers free delivery across Cyprus above a stated order threshold, a coupons section and no Sunday hours on the official site. We saw no loyalty card there.

Reading a brochure from this group

Look at the cover for the validity dates first; a monthly sheet like Scandia's is valid for the whole month while a campaign leaflet may be shorter. Then look at what the sheet is selling: large appliances, audio and vision, small appliances, cooling and heating, and gaming all appear among Scandia's website categories. Brand names tend to lead the pages, so the useful comparison is the same model across two retailers on the same dates, not one retailer's page against another's cover.

Instalment schemes appear alongside the offers. Treat them as financing, not as a lower price, and read the terms from the lender. Our pages say only what the retailer's site says, and we do not rate financing deals.

Opening hours and Sundays

Sunday opening is where this category differs most from groceries. Shops in Cyprus have been allowed to open on Sundays for decades, per the Labour Minister in 2023, but electronics chains use that freedom unevenly. Emilios Eliades is closed, Electroline lists no Sunday hours, Megaelectric lists none, and only Andreas Charalambous at Kofinou gives a Sunday window. Scandia's published hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 19:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 15:00 at Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol. If you work Monday to Friday, the Saturday slot is your realistic visit.

Your rights when buying

EU rules give you a minimum two-year guarantee from the moment you receive goods, and for goods bought online, by phone or at the door, a 14-day right to cancel without giving a reason. The return postage is normally yours unless the seller agrees otherwise, and made-to-order goods are excluded. The retailers above mostly mirror this: Andreas Charalambous, Emilios Eliades and Electroline each quote 14 days for online orders. In-store terms differ: Electroline offers a seven-day exchange, so ask before assuming a shop will take back a change-of-mind purchase.

What shoppers search for

The suggested queries show how people begin. They search for electronics stores in Cyprus by name, add terms such as online store or appliances, and for individual products pair them with Cyprus: washing machine, television, kitchen appliances. For retailers they ask for opening hours and Sunday hours, which matches the Sunday gaps described above. For a combined view of the island, see the Cyprus offers overview, and if you are fitting out a house the home and garden brochures cover furniture and DIY.
